On June 25th, Parallel Technologies brought together representatives from K-12 organizations from across Minnesota for its inaugural K-12 Security User Group meeting.

At this first event, Charles Reed, Regional Sales Manager for United Technologies’ LenelS2 provided the two dozen attendees with an overview of upcoming S2 improvements as well as insight on how to get the most out of their card access systems.

Following the card access discussion, Mark Bonde, Parallel Technologies’ Director Sales and Marketing – Building Infrastructure, presented on “The Future of Video Surveillance.”  In this discussion, he laid out the direction that surveillance technology is moving and how K-12 organizations can plan accordingly for future installations.

“The goal of the user group is to provide school district security leaders with a forum to share insight on how they are using various tools and strategies to ensure campus security as well as an opportunity for collaborative problem solving on how to overcome the challenges they’re facing in their schools,” said Bonde. “It is our plan to convene additional user groups for the security technologies being implemented in schools today.”
