MINNEAPOLIS – November 16, 2018 – Parallel Technologies, an industry-leading reliable data center and intelligent building solutions company, has promoted Matt Schwartz to Director of Technology & Engineering. In his new role at Parallel Technologies, Schwartz will lead the company’s new Emerging Business unit which focuses on the integration of building technology platforms including distributed antenna systems (DAS), network infrastructure, physical security, building automation, and energy management.

“Our clients are continually looking for ways to improve safety and security, energy sustainability and building efficiencies through easy to use integrated building systems,” said Dale Klein, Parallel Technologies’ CEO and owner. “Typically building systems are implemented in silos with little thought given to overall objectives. With his background, Matt is the perfect person to lead this new group and expand Parallel’s integration capabilities.”

As leader of the new business unit, Schwartz will oversee the technology and engineering consulting services including network, mechanical & electrical engineering, DAS and physical security. An integral part of the new business unit is the integrated design and delivery of Master System Integrator (MSI) services.

“The real impact from building technology comes when the systems communicate and collaborate,” said Schwartz. “Core to the new business unit, is a focus on working directly with building owners to ensure critical information will be accessible and usable to all building technology platforms.  The goal is to facilitate integration, aggregation, and communication of the building systems to meet the requirements of the building owner.”

Since joining Parallel Technologies in 2013 as Lead Integration Engineer, Schwartz has provided design and build services for data centers and other building infrastructure spaces. Previously, Schwartz was owner of Zephyr Controls, where he contracted, designed, installed and serviced technology infrastructure for commercial and residential buildings
