Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)

What is Distributed Antenna System (DAS) in Buildings?

Defined as a network of spatially separated antenna nodes connected to a common source that provides wireless service within a geographical area or structure.

Why is it Important?

While mobile devices have become one of the primary sources of communication today, cellular signal is needed everywhere, both indoors and outdoors. Studies have found that up to 80% of all cellular calls today originate from indoors. The challenge is that the macro cellular network, network of outdoor cell towers, has trouble penetrating walls and windows.  A DAS solution can be deployed working hand and hand with the outdoor macro cellular network to provide indoor coverage within a certain area.
