Giving to Those in Need

Last week 17 Parallel employees (and three of their siblings/kids) volunteered with “Feed My Starving Children” to hand-pack meals for malnourished children all over the world.

This non-profit organization is committed to eliminate starvation in children throughout the world by helping to instill compassion in people, by encouraging them to hear and respond to the cries of those in need.

Each packaged meal costs only .22 cents to produce with the help of volunteers.

During a two-hour shift, Parallel volunteers fed their own spirits while working to package 28,728 meals. These 1-cup meals are the equivalent of feeding 79 children for a year.

Company employees also donated $350 which were matched by Parallel Technologies for a total of $700. These funds will result in an additional 3,181 packaged meals which will feed nine more hungry children for an entire year.

Our employees overwhelmingly commented on how much fun they had and that they will look for an opportunity to volunteer again.
