For most people, LA is an ideal place to get away and play.

But for several Parallel employees, there was very little time to play during a packed week at AFCOM Data Center World (DCW) April 3-7 at the Convention Center in downtown Los Angeles. Several of our team members spent this week presenting and attending numerous seminars, being interviewed by industry publications, participating in multiple networking events, and exhibiting and browsing in the Exhibit Hall.

Our employees made the most of their time at AFCOM DCW. Here are the highlights:

•For the second consecutive Data Center World, Mark Bonde (Sr. Account Manager) was asked to give his presentation, Physical Security: Integrating Technology and Process to Reduce Risks. The presentation was attended by well over sixty conference attendees on Tuesday afternoon, and received excellent interaction and questions from the audience.
•Parallel’s Tim Kittila (Director of Data Centers) was blur all week. In addition to a packed agenda of conferences and networking meetings, Tim gave his presentation Strategy for Active-Active Data Centers: Do We Need It, and How Do We Get There? to a well-attended session with nearly fifty attendees on Thursday morning. Tim was also interviewed by several industry publications with one interview in Data Center Post already published thus far.
•Aaron Grenz (Business Development Manager), also had a full week attending numerous presentations and industry networking events. Aaron also managed our company’s booth in the Data Center World Exhibit hall, which saw mostly steady traffic during the week.

Upon the team’s return to Minnesota, The AFCOM participation continued. Mark Bonde presented his Data Center Physical Security presentation at the local AFCOM Minnesota Chapter’s meeting on Wednesday, April 12 at MMC in Golden Valley, MN. This speaking engagement was nearly full capacity with well over forty data center operators and vendors from across the region in attendance.

Parallel is grateful for AFCOM’s invitations to present and share our thought leadership both locally and nationally. Our team will continue to be active participants in this organization, and we will endeavor to develop and further demonstrate our thought leadership to the both regional and national data center communities.
